“Doors closing. Lift going up. Doors opening. Sixth Floor. Doors closing”. And so on, ad nauseum.

It seems to me there is an excellent opportunity for a forward-thinking lift company to hire the woman who sang the theme tune to ‘Are You Being Served?’ to record the announcements.

Think how much that would brighten your day
