OK, there’s been quite a lot of activity on the cars front, especially if I include Big Martyn’s cars in the equation.
Until recently we had two and a half cars each. Martyn had a Citroen XM (2 litre turbo, automatic) and a DeLorean and I had a Citroen Xantia (3 litre V6 Exclusive, automatic) and a Mercedes Benz (C43 AMG). We have a Citroen BX 16V between us.
Unfortunately Martyn had to give up the XM last week because it would have been too expensive to get through the MOT. He sold it to BL Autos and Sons for the value of the amount outstanding against it for preliminary work carried out prior to the MOT.
Martyn has been using the BX 16V recently because he’s been having some problems with the DeLorean.
I’ve been trying to sell my Xantia for some time now, although I haven’t actually got around to listing it anywhere.
Hopefully one of the chaps at work will buy my Xantia, I’m taking it to work next week so he can check it out.
Whilst Martyn was at BL Autos and Sons today, delivering the paperwork for the XM, everyone was looking at the DeLorean (as they do) when Robert (one of the BL chaps) pointed out a slight oil leak on the engine, which promptly got much worse. So, whilst BL fixed the DeLorean it turns out the only courtesy car left was Martyn’s old XM (somewhat fettled and now with an MOT).
Anyway, whilst he was there, Martyn noticed that there was a Xantia Activa for sale (2 litre turbo, with extremely funky Citroen suspension which keeps the car flat around corners). And all for less than £700. Bargain.
So, I think the new plan is to sell the BX and buy the Activa instead
All change!
