Today Big Martyn (who drives a DeLorean) took me to the National Heritage Car Museum at Gaydon (probably in Warwickshire, UK) for Super Car Sunday.
When we arrived we were directed to the DeLorean area, where it was explained that the event should probably be called Super Car & DeLorean Sunday. Shirley you’re not suggesting the DeLorean is anything other than a Super Car?
We counted 17 DeLoria in total, although there were some late arrivals, including a truly bizarre red painted DeLorean.
At 12:10, we all drove in a cavalcade through the crowds. With the doors open, of course. It’s the Law.
Here’s a (rather large at about 250k) picture of DeLorean Detail Displaying Door Deployment.
After the cavalcade, which seemed to involve both of us grinning inanely a great deal, we popped in to the cafe for lunch. Then we had a look around the museum. It’s fantastic! You can get up really close to the cars and wander all around them.
As it was Super Car Sunday, there were a plethora of Lamborghinis, Ferraris,
Porsches, and lots of other interesting exotica. My favourite thing about Lamborghini is the large number of yellow cars they produce
We also saw a pair of Lancia Delta Integrales (drool), and a pair of white Nissan Skylines.
Gaydon is definitely worth a visit, even if it’s not on Super Car Sunday. All in all, a great day out.
Thanks to Big Martyn for all the photos.
